Dance and Culture Blended in Cameroon

Dancing in Cameroon has always been an informal thing with very little interest in it. A lot of factors like money made it so. Keeping aside the cultural associations that do carry out traditional dance training, there is no single institution that offers dance as a course or subject whereas this is taught in other countries and students enroll into universities just to read for a degree in dance. Short traditional dance by Bamenda people called ejiangi With the Cameroon music industry in a renaissance now, a lot of people are now getting involved with dance as few theatres are opening up, and most music stars are identifying themselves with particular dancers. Dance as a profession is what some people are thinking of and we have one of Cameroon’s best dancers in the person of Aline Snuff, for her stunning displays with famous Cameroonian star Mr . Leo . This lady is pursuing a career in dance and many of her peers are beginning to look up to her as they now see that dancing pays...

Black Panther's message for Black Americans, Africans and Racist.

Image
Black Panther portrays an image of Africa that some Africans will love to see in real life. Wakanda is certainly a country everyone will like to be part of.  But my opinion here is not fully on the movie but rather what impact or message the movie has for the black community.  Black Americans now feel like a movie of theirs is going to be hitting hard on the box office where they are not represented as thugs, slaves, or the bad ones. Is this a positive move for or by Hollywood? I think so. I believe we all should embrace Black Panther for the morale of the film is super cool. Given that most black Americans do not usually like to be associated with Africa, their love for this movie shows that they cannot run away from their roots. The word racism for most people in general often gives a demarcation between whites and blacks and it becomes funny to be a black and deny or refuse to be reminded that you are linked to Africa. How funny this is can be demonstrated by the lo...

African Youths Immigration and Jacob Zuma's resignation

Image
Why African youths continuously flee from their continent both legally and illegally is just a matter of understanding how life operates on the continent. Institutions have been created that train youths to graduate and go look for jobs rather than create the jobs. Political systems designed to eat all the meat and throw away the bones leave the youths with nothing. Government officials steal the states money together with their presidents and go on vacations to Europe, save the money in banks abroad, take sick leaves to Europe and the US, send their children and family members to the best schools abroad etc. It is worth noting that the African continent is still very unexplored and unexploited in terms of mineral and human resources and some so called first world countries continue to carry out trade with these African nations thus do all they can to keep their presidents and their regimes in power as long as these trade agreements are respected which is why presidents who oppose ...

Florida Shootings and Trump fails to mention Gun Control Laws

Image
Feel and show some concern for the families that have lost their love ones in the Florida High School shooting. I choose to talk about this very much because I feel the pain as if it was my immediate family. Now the Governor of Florida together with the mayor and sheriffs are going about talking gun control laws, these are all politicians and we know what to expect from them. Is it too much to cry out for stricter gun control laws? Though it is written in the constitution of the United States that “the right of the people keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”, it is a constitution designed to protect the people and if this protection cannot be guaranteed by any article of the constitution, then something failure steps in. According statistics by www.statista.com, conservative estimates of fire arms in the US suggest that there exist83 privately owned firearms for every 100 people in the country making the United States the most heavily armed civilian population in the world....

Florida Mass Shootings Controversies and Real Madrid’s shots at goal

May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace, we again witnessed another sad day on February 15, 2018 this time at a renown high school in Florida. I am not going to start a debate on gun laws again but I will just want to reiterate that while shootings like this have become a norm, people’s greed is what wins at the end of the day.  The world has become a controlled entity by some greedy families, fake politicians and above all fake religions filled with lies. People will cry and become terrified by these shootings but afterwards, absolutely nothing is done to prevent further happenings again. Presidents like Donald Trump will come up and say the entire America weeps for these losses but all are just lies, none of the money guys cares. On their funeral days, some pastors and preachers will come and add the lies about saving their souls and paving a way into heaven for them. All lies and continuous lies, nobody cares, the governments make millions from these gun stores and...
