Corona (Covid-19) an Eye Opener For Some Leaders?

If you have read a few of my blog posts, you can immediately sense that I am someone who hates injustice.
Now that you know, let's talk about injustice. We live in a world of plenty. How is this plenty shared for the common good of each other? I leave the answering to you. I'll however share my own thoughts about the answer by drawing inspiration from this picture below;

Perhaps, I will end up raising more questions than answers, nevertheless, it should remain interesting for those who feel concerned as I am. Three years ago and you can replace me with the boy lifting a cocoa bag. I managed my father's cocoa farms and know exactly what goes on. It's clearer to me now that I live in Europe and see countries here boast of their chocolate-making ability while back on our farms, we are not getting up to 2euros for a kilo of the cocoa bean. Liken it to coffee bean, gold, diamond, cobalt, copper, etc. What is wrong? who is to blame? who can fix it? just more and more questions.

A very obvious responsible to be held accountable will be the African leader. Is this write-up going to be another castigation of my leaders? to cut a long story short, they are to blame not because they failing to act or because they don't care but the truth is they don't even know how to lead. They have resorted to filling their pockets at the expense of the vast majority. My people and my whole continent bleed deeply and for whatever reason, these people have consolidated their grip on power with military full of uneducated and hungry people looking for immediate gratification (which they get).

They are problems everywhere and I am not undermining any. It is not a surprise that anywhere there are enormous resources, there always seems to be war and political instability. The African continent has been plagued by this for centuries likewise the Middle East of which I'm not going to talk about because I know little about them for now. I am however not blind to the similarities. Is it surprising to you that the greatest number of refugees are from these two regions of the world?

African leaders always run to the West for medical treatment while caring less for their medical institutions except now that COVID-19 has forced them to stay put with European hospitals crowded. Now they can begin to think and I wouldn't wish for Corona to continue because the world is at its knees but if given that choice, I'd gladly choose just to see this situation make my leaders re-think. Will they stand up and help themselves and their people? do they possess what it takes to be just?

The West, call them Europe and America if you like, what is their role? they are as cunning and unpredictable as a snake. They parade the place screaming and preaching human rights yet fail to act. Living in Europe, I see that they talk about human rights only politically while economically, they are as mute as a white baby seeing a black man for the first time. The only difference is, they deliberately choose to be mute because they benefit from these crooked leaders. E.g ask yourself why they include human rights violations clauses into aid given to African leaders yet fail to implement clauses on loans and aid that are requested and meant to build good roads and hospitals for these same people whom they seem to care so much about. They give aid and loans to well documented corrupt to the core people again and again with records showing mismanagement of these funds. Why? because these leaders are their puppets.

Covid-19 has allowed the whole world to re-think. I wish that the Pan-African spirit is reborn in these puppets and the spirit of Ubuntu to fly about touching the hearts of every man, woman, and child.
