Why Do You Find Talking About Money Uncomfortable?

Image
"And I realized that the conventional world system was designed to offer me comfort in form of security but hidden behind it was a mandatory cost; my time and my freedom". (Acha Etiendem) 2022 is taking its last breath before it vanishes into the history books.  I hope and wish that you achieved some or all of your goals and if not, don't feel down but challenge yourself and go again for you are lucky enough to still be breathing. Remember! as long as you breathe, there's hope. I understand you may be reading this feeling down as the year draws to a close but I tell you to cheer up for you just paid life tuition with your failure(s)  and as long as you keep trying and being persistent, life will eventually offer you what you're striving for, it is inevitable. How do I know this? you might be asking but I learned from two of the greatest books ever written (The Bible and Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill).  Ok! I was thinking to myself and self-reflecting on my ...

You need to and must know about Inflation.

Image
Hello reader! I hope whatever reason brought you here leaves you filling satisfied. I'll keep this short and straight to the point as usual.  I talked before about inflation and with the benefit of the doubt, I'll define it again. Inflation is defined in economics as a general increase in prices and a fall in money's purchasing value. To make it, even more, simpler, let me recount an incident that explains this. Five months ago, a 5kg bag of rice cost me about $11 but today, it costs me $13. This is a significant increment that clearly explains inflation. A difference of $2 might not mean a lot but put this in context and you'll realize that basically, the price of almost all goods and services increased. And if you had to buy a lot of stuff or more bags of rice, not only is the price in front of you high but the money you have in your bank's saving account has also gone down in value.   https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2015/10/31/08/50/coins-1015125_960_720.jpg Why am...

Personal finance (PF) ignorantly remains a taboo in families.

Hello and welcome. It has been a while since I last posted here. I definitely need to up my consistency at this posting game. I have felt reluctant to post because somehow Google denied my request for an AdSense license perhaps citing that I may have had content that sought to condone, downplay or profit from the Ukraine crisis. I have nothing to say or defend as I disagree with them. Keeping that aside, I just thought I share a little bit about personal finance with some of my consistent readers. I always share my thoughts in the hope that they can benefit someone or that someone might engage me in meaningful dialogue.  The author has no legal right to this image. Contact for credit/removal According to Investopedia: Personal finance is a term that covers managing your money as well as saving and investing. It encompasses budgeting, banking, insurance, mortgages, investments, and retirement, tax, and estate planning. The term often refers to the entire industry that provides finan...

RussiaUkraine War - Acha's Opinion piece (emotional yet very rational).

Image
Hi there! and welcome to this episode where, I will like to keep my promise and share my thoughts on Russia's invasion of Ukraine and as always, keep it short and straight to the point. And don't forget the civil war in Anglophone Cameroon and other wars the media has been biased with its coverage. My sincere condolences and sympathy to the innocent Ukrainian lives being lost and it is my wish that this war ends as soon as possible. To begin, no sovereign state should have its territorial integrity trampled upon and abused. What I mean is Russia has gone too far with this step. But how far is far? if you did not know, Russia in the last two decades has invaded Georgia in 2008  Ten Years Ago, Russia Invaded Georgia (voa.gov) , Ukraine in 2014 (when it annexed Crimea) Russia officially annexes Crimea away from Ukraine with signature from Vladimir Putin - CBS News , and presently 2022. Did you ever ask yourself why another country invades another? or perhaps why such a thing shoul...

How I lost $740 in Forex by not following the RussiaUkranie War

Welcome to my first blog post of the year and there could be no better time to blog than during this conflict in Ukraine. I know you must already have your conclusions about me talking money when people are losing lives. Well, there is not much I can do other than shed a little light on an already well-broadcasted geopolitical event. At least I help reach a few more people regardless of how they receive it and the question is what have you done about it before judging me? As always, I'll keep things short. The day is drawing to a close and my neighborhood is as silent as ever with everyone sleeping. This happens to be my best time putting into words the shit that goes on in my mind. Forex refers to foreign exchange and a milieu where currencies are exchanged is referred to as the Forex market. Like every market, there are people who provide a place for others to buy and sell ( in this case exchange currencies). These people/platforms/market places are referred to as brokers. I have...
