Immigration - The Partition of The Western World
Hi! I hope you're having a great day. I'm going to keep this short so let's get to it.
I'm black and proud. And I realize that many fear acknowledging that races do exist and matter. Europe has been a place for the white race or let me say Caucasians. I don't care whether they originated as some different color in some other place before massively settling in what we know today as Europe. Just like Africa is Indigenous to the black skin folk and Asia to the brown skin folk. if you're to be honest, then you must acknowledge this. Black folk feel a sense of entitlement when Africa is talked about. This is just normal for white Europeans to feel the same when Europe is talked about. All these people have systems and beliefs that they share and practice. If something threatens to do away with that, then they are bound to be retaliation because fear or concern of losing one's identity is worth every penny. This is the problem with migration because it tends to erode away the indigenous identity of a society. It is only natural that a pushback be expected and whether this is right or wrong remains a topic for another time.

Do you remember hearing or seeing videos of people talking about immigration? I bet you do especially if you live in the US. Actually, it isn't just the US as this particular topic of immigration is prevalent in every so-called "first-world country". It might appear to be a big issue in the US because of the upcoming presidential elections but it is as popular in other countries as it is in the US. We have witnessed the rise of far-right politicians sweeping parliamentary seats in major European states. Most of these politicians have stood firm against immigration or to put it politely massive immigration.
To me, migration is a characteristic of living things. All living things from plants to animals, tend to migrate in search of favorable living conditions to guarantee their survival. Humans are no exception to this rule of nature. If you're reading this, be aware that there will always be migration from one place to another. And as people migrate, they bring with them their cultures and blend into their new societies. This is where the problem with immigration stems from. I remember taking a social integration class in one country in Europe where the lectures had to deal with teaching immigrants some things that are very common in that country and in the West. Things like women being equal to men, kissing and holding hands on the street as a normal thing, having separate trash bins for different types of waste, etc. Not that I didn't already know these things were normal but it appeared these lectures were really designed for some ancient people or people from cultures that had not witnessed the civilization of man from apes. These social integration courses are offered in most European states and are a prerequisite for obtaining permanent residence.
It has become common in Europe to find people of color holding top political positions after the results of elections. What this says, is that Europe has a new identity. This probably pisses some people off but this is the reality offered by democracy. And if the people decide, then you can easily tell where the majority stand on immigration. Yes! Europe has a new identity and books have been written to explain what Europe is becoming or has become. If it'll interest you, read "The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity, Islam is a 2017 book by the British journalist and political commentator Douglas Murray". A new Europe is one where cultures of different places are having a tug of war to either form a new European culture or outright implement itself as the new European culture. It only takes more people to believe in the same thing and we have ourselves a majority that showcases the power of democracy.
The US is very different from Europe in the way immigration works because the US itself is a nation of immigrants. For some reason, European Americans seem to always act like they are the superior race amongst these other races that have built what we know today as the United States of America. I say so because it is very common to hear Asian-American, African-American but never European-American. Anyways, the US immigration case is not so much about a new America because every immigrant group existing in this world is found in the US. So, there is no changing of the US into something else. If the Chinese come, there is a Chinese-American culture, if Indians come, there's is already an Indian-American culture, if the Mexicans/Latinos come, there's already a Mexican/Latino American culture, etc. The US of America is indeed a unique nation on Earth and though the news and elections frenzy may talk so much about immigration, they are not totally against it like the Caucasians of Europe are. They simply want a controlled entry into the country. Truth be told, the middle class in America, the class that holds the economy in one piece, is already very strained and the cost of living has increased so high that people are no longer having kids. Other factors are in play for the low birth rates but one could point to the cost of living too. And low birth rates have positioned the US in a dangerous downward population growth trend and these immigrants are making up for the numbers. Though we notice these same low birth rates in other Western countries, these countries are having to risk giving away their identity to embrace immigrants.
Finally, I captioned this as the West being partitioned. It does look like it to me because when I was in London, I could see more blacks and Indians than white folk. Paris had more blacks and Arabs than white folks, Brussels was just another Paris. This is the new reality and though the article may appear divisive to some, it mainly highlights what I see and they are my opinions. This is not an objective take so lighten up.
Enjoy your day!!!
